East Providence is a city in Providence County, in the Providence-New Bedford metro area. It covers a total area of 43.0 km² (16.6 mi²) of which 34.7 km² (13.4 mi²) of it is land and 8.3 km² (3.2 mi²) of it (19.33%) is water. It is located on the Seekonk River. It is a Portuguese suburb of Providence.
